My experience has been the opposite, actually. We go a Panasonic and spent more money for it. It cost a bit more, but never any problems with it for the past 5 years.

I was talking with a TV repair guy when our flatscreen broke and he was talking about how all of the manufacturers no longer put the quality into their products any longer. It’s all about using the cheapest parts to pad the bottom line. That is why so many flatscreen TVs break so often.

While I have always been a name brand guy, it made me think about about saving some money by buying a knockoff version. After all, if it’s going to break, why spend the extra money?

Did you see that thing about how retailers sell essentially refurbished TVs/electronics at Black Friday allowing them to keeps costs super low? I’m all about buying quality like you said. Know what you’re getting, and have it last longer.
